Role of CSR in Reducing Regional Disparity

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility plays a vital role in uplifting society in several ways. Companies are using it as a tool in order to gain a competitive edge in the market but at the same time, it is also increasing the gap of regional disparity. Concentrating on only the surrounding community by the industry develops the surrounding community only.  But what about the places where there is no industry? Should companies focus on the surrounded community where the industry is located? Whether companies should also focus on those places from where they obtain raw materials? The probable answer may be yes. But how? By proper restructuring, the CSR Policy such regional disparity can be minimized.
