Organisational Resilience and Employee Passion in Oil and Gas Companies in Nigeria

Abstract

The study looked at the dimension of organisational resilience (supervisors’ trust) and employee passion of Oil and Gas Companies in Nigeria. A total of 200 copies of the questionnaire were administered out of which 136 were returned. 18 copies of the questionnaire returned were unusable as a result of which 118 copies were analyzed. We undertook a confirmatory test of internal consistency on the instrument with our sample using the Cronbach alpha. The table 1 below shows the Cronbach alpha coefficient for the variables. The finding shows a significant relationship between the dimension and measures of the study. We concluded that; organizational resilience (supervisors’ trust) significantly affects employee passion. Based on the findings and conclusions the following recommendations were made: Oil companies’ management should build and sustain trust among its workforce, this will help to enhance mutual working relationship as well as promote passionate behavior at workplace. And that employees in Nigerian oil companies respect and appreciate a leader with integrity as this will make the employee to be passionate about his/her work.
