Abstract

The problem of alcohol abuse has assumed greater significance in recent years in India, more so since the 1980’s. Many health, social and economic problems and even deaths associated with such abuse have attracted much research attention of social scientists. For this purpose, the sample consisted of 300 male college youth, drawn equally from three groups, namely, occasional alcohol users (N=100), habitual alcohol users (N=100) and non-users (N=100). They were all males enrolled in medical and engineering colleges located in Patna city.
