Student’s Satisfaction towards their Industrial Training: A Review Paper

Indian hotel industry has seen a remarkable growth in recent years due to heavy inflow of tourists in India. Apparently, hotel industry is one highest foreign exchange earning industries in Indian economy. Being a service-oriented industry, it relies heavily on passion driven individuals who are willing to work in extremely challenging environment. With drastic expansion of hotel industry in these years, a huge demand of quality manpower has aroused. Seeing hotel industry as an exciting career option, there has been great number of aspirants paving their way to academic institutes offering hotel management courses. Such institutes are playing an important role in supplying the quality workforce against demand of passionate individuals in hospitality industry. However, it has become extremely challenging for these institutes to keep their students up to rising standards of hotel industry. While classroom exposure is simply not enough to develop required competent and trained professionals, there is compulsory concept of industrial training that is followed in the courses of hotel management colleges/institutes. Industrial Training is an important segment of these courses in which a student pursuing a hotel management is sent under an industrial training to a hotel for getting exposure of real world in industry outside the classroom. It is a short-term training of 22 to 26 weeks as per the policy of different institutions. In period of industrial training the trainee works in all core departments pf hotels and get insights to all real time situations in a working hotel. Trainee experience not only prepares the trainee for industry but also imparts knowledge that cannot be achieved by just studying books. Generally, these training sessions are carried out throughout the year by hotels in summers and winters batches. These trainees help hotels to fill in as extra manpower. In this study 50 papers based on relevant studies has been reviewed to find out the student’s satisfaction towards industrial training through various magnitudes, aspects, underlying factors, variables, perceptions and paradigms. This study will provide a analyses on the basis of review of literature which will act as a WIN-WIN situation for industry, academia and students and all other stakeholder’s so that purpose of placing industrial training in curriculum is met.

Potential of opening an Eva Hotel in Nagpur City

This research work has been done with the purpose of studying The Potential of Opening an ‘Eva Hotel’ in Nagpur City. The idea behind an ‘Eva Hotel’ is, a hotel property solely meant for women clientele (a growing niche segment of the Tourism Industry), which would be operated, managed, and serviced by women staff exclusively. The research method used to carry out this research is ‘Descriptive Type of Research’ since, the researcher is merely describing the possibility of opening this type of hotel property in Nagpur city, its benefits over other hotel properties and its ability to provide employment in the hospitality industry to the capable and talented women of the city, in need of job opportunities, free of gender bias. The sampling technique used for this research is Random Sampling, in which, a sample size of 75 was taken, and the survey was taken from the sample through filling up of a questionnaire.

Through this research study, awareness regarding ‘Eva Hotel, ‘amongst the general public of Nagpur, not just targeting the women, but also men, who should be aware of new concepts like this, keeping in mind the women in their own family, and for their safety and security whilst travelling to a new destination, not compromising in any way to their independence and explorations.

If it is seen through the study, that the potential of an ‘Eva Hotel’ is high, it would set a benchmark and put Nagpur City, on a pedestal for its unique initiative, serving as a role-model for the other big-named cities of the state as well as the country at large, thereby also being instrumental in paving the way for solo-women travel and tourism in the city, state and country, while also boosting the Tourism Sector.

Entrepreneurship is a fundamental part of growth and development opportunities for all countries. No matter how wealthy a country is materially, it cannot develop if its resources are not used productively. To this end, vibrant entrepreneurs who can make a significant contribution to the prosperity of the country are required. The only way out is to encourage and grow entrepreneurship, since it tries to turn a person into a job supplier rather than a job seeker. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the economic activity of several nations, regardless of their position. Economists have classified these effects as recessions and depressions. Regardless of the business, COVID-19 has impacted a lot of entrepreneurs, but some have been more severely impacted than others. The primary difficulties faced by business owners in the hospitality industry are examined in this essay. A cash flow deficit, a lack of raw materials, a labor scarcity, a decline in demand, the possibility of a contract breach, and logistical obstacles are the primary issues that entrepreneurs deal with in the hospitality sector. In conclusion, the effects on small and medium-sized businesses in the hospitality industry are highlighted, along with the theoretical and practical implications. Primary sources with a set of questionnaire was used to gather data from the industry. Entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector are the chosen study group. After collection, the data were tabulated and then interpreted.

Analyzing the Impact of Staff Training Programs in Order to Increase Business for Hotels

This study examined the effects of staff training programs on key performance indicators in the hospitality industry. Multiple studies have shown that comprehensive training leads to greater employee satisfaction and retention, enhanced service quality and guest satisfaction, and increased revenues and profitability. Essential elements of successful programs comprise of the on boarding process, training in technical skills, development of soft skills, continuous refresher sessions, and evaluation. Evidence indicates that each hour of training contributes to the alignment of staff competencies with corporate objectives, hence increasing loyalty and efficiency. Notwithstanding its limits, much evidence strongly supports the manifold advantages of training. Hotels should carefully allocate resources to role-specific programs to gain a competitive edge. The cumulative results provide a convincing argument for the necessity of thorough staff training as a catalyst for visitor happiness, employee involvement, and financial success.
