Abstract

The rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally transforming educational contexts, yet conventional teacher education programs frequently remain fragmented across theoretical knowledge, pedagogical practice, psychological preparation, digital competence, and research engagement. This paper proposes AITEP (AI-based Interactive Teacher Education Paradigm) as an integrated, human-centered teacher-formation theory designed to address this fragmentation across B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ph.D. levels.

AITEP integrates five core dimensions—Artificial Intelligence Competence, Psychological Intelligence, Interactive Pedagogy, Research Intelligence and Continuous Professional Transformation—into a coherent teacher-formation system. Building conceptually upon Stanford's microteaching tradition and Flanders' systematic classroom interaction analysis, AITEP proposes an AI-era extension: from traditional Teach-Observe-Feedback-Re-teach cycles towards Diagnose-Prepare-Teach-AI-Assisted Analyze-Human Validate-Reflect-Improve-Re-teach-Validate-Transform trajectories.

The paper presents: (1) theoretical foundations grounded in established teacher-education traditions; (2) AITEP's core architecture and five-pillar framework; (3) implementation strategies across degree levels; (4) a proposed competency-progression model with five developmental stages; (5) an assessment framework combining quantitative, qualitative and performance evidence; (6) ethical safeguards ensuring human agency remains central; (7) an empirically testable validation pathway. Critically, AITEP positions AI not as a replacement for teacher judgement, but as an analytical partner augmenting human pedagogical decision-making.

The proposed Teacher Transformation Index (ATTI) integrates eight dimensions (AI + Psychology + Pedagogy + Interaction + Reflection + Research + Innovation + Leadership), with reliability and validity to be established through future empirical research. This alignment with UNESCO's 2024 AI Competency Framework for Teachers ensures international scholarly relevance.

The paper concludes that AITEP represents a theoretically coherent, institutionally implementable, and empirically testable framework for the continuous professional formation of teachers in an AI-mediated educational landscape.
