Heritage Tourism is important in the sustenance of cultural identity and economic development through an experiential experience of the past historical and cultural tradition. However, the sector faces challenges, such as globalization, changing tourist expectations, and the sustainability problem, which puts at risk the integrity and appeal of heritage sites. This paper discusses how modern hospitality practices can restore heritage tourism while ensuring that cultural authenticity remains intact.
The research emphasizes the significance of technological advancements, including virtual and augmented reality, in facilitating immersive and accessible experiences for tourists. Furthermore, sustainable tourism initiatives, encompassing environmentally conscious lodging options and community-centric tourism, are recognized as vital approaches for safeguarding both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The study highlights the critical need for collaboration among stakeholders, including governmental entities, local populations, and private sector actors, to guarantee the efficient administration and enhancement of heritage tourism. Based on global and regional case studies, this review demonstrates the potential of adaptive reuse of heritage properties, cultural storytelling, and local culinary experiences to attract contemporary tourists to their sites while preserving historical significance.
This study emphasizes the need for a balanced approach that harmonizes modern tourism demands with cultural preservation, ensuring that heritage tourism remains relevant for the long term in the face of a rapidly changing world.
